Treehouses at Saratoga Springs Review

September 4, 2012

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the wonderful Treehouses at Saratoga Springs located in the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World.  So if you Jane and me Tarzan, let’s swing from tree to tree and experience tree-top living!

The treehouses do not have their own separate check-in area; you have to first travel to Saratoga Springs and check-in at this resort.  You are then either transported or you can drive around the corner to the secure gated area to enter into the Treehouses domain.

Ramped access villa

The treehouses are arranged over several acres with some affording a lake view, others with a view of the golf courses or others with just trees, trees and more trees view.  Our lodge was situated at the furthest point with a golf view.  Some houses also have ramped access for less able guests.

Disney beds are always the best!

The décor and attention to detail is given throughout the treehouse.  The “handbuilt” theme is ever present but with the usual touches of Disney brilliance.  Think the Wilderness Lodge in style but with the usual DVC touches.

I even love the design of the old fashioned looking taps…

Overall these lodges are very well appointed and could easily accommodate a large family of 5 or 6.  Though higher numbers may feel slightly cramped.  It’s peaceful and quiet setting make you feel like you are right in the wilderness, though the lack of amenities may put some people off.   We would definitely recommend this resort for those that want to be in Disney but want the peace and quiet that usually the outer Disney resorts take advantage of.

Lets us know your thoughts in the comments section below.  Have you ever slept in a treehouse before Jane?
